In the passage above, we can read that people at that time were amazed at Jesus' teaching because he taught them as one with authority.
When you listen to God's word, do you also consider Jesus' teaching with authority in your life or you just listen to it and after a few minutes forget about his teachings and go on with your own way or seek your future from tarots or horoscope?
I know the passage above talks about how amazed those people were when they heard Jesus taught and it also compares Jesus with the teachers of the law but i don't want to focus on what's the difference between Jesus and the teachers of the law because Jesus is far beyond comparison. I want to emphasize here what is the authority of Jesus as he speaks in your life....his authority whenever he speaks...(that is, his authority whenever you listen to the word of God) versus believing what horoscope is telling you.
Have you read your horoscope today? What does it tell you?
Do you consider God's word or do you believe horoscope more than what God tells in the Bible?
Horoscope's definition is astrological chart showing the positions of the sun, moon, and planets in relation to the signs of the zodiac at a specific time. It is used to analyze the character of individuals born at that time, providing information about the current state of their life and predicting their future. By its defition, it's a form of divination.
Divination's meaning from answer.com is, it is a practice of discerning the hidden significance of events and foretelling the future. Divination is found in all societies, ancient and modern, though methods vary. In the West, psychics claim innate ability to predict the future, and horoscopes, palm reading, and tarot cards are popular methods of divination.
Are you aware that these practices are detestable to God?
Deuteronomy 18:10-13 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you.You must be blameless before the LORD your God.
It is so sad that many people follow horoscope than the word of God. God is the only one who knows what will happen to our future. Don't seek from what horoscope is telling you.I even recommend to stop reading horoscope and don't believe what it says. Again,its a form of divination which the Lord hates. Read the Bible instead.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Only God knows our future. Only God's knows the whole picture of our destiny. So begin to read God's word today,meditate on it day and night and you will have a clear direction of what God wants you to do and rely on what he says in His word.
