After The Election... What's Next?

So how was your vote? Are the candidates you voted in the lead? If not, what is your reaction right now?

I know u want those candidates to be in their respective positions that's why you just ignored the heat of the sun last Monday  but went early to your assigned precinct to vote for the candidates you really want.

Election is over....now, what's next? What should be our response if our personal choices didn't win? What should be our response to the newly elected leaders of our nation? What should be our role in this new government leadership?

We have very important roles to do after election. The Bible has reminders to each one of us.

A. PRAY

 1) God wants us to pray for the leadership of our nation.

" I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.." 1 Timothy 2:1-3

2) Pray for the new leaders of our nation that God will give them discerning hearts to govern the people.

It was Solomon's prayer when he became King of Israel.

" So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?" 1 Kings 3:9

3) Pray that each one of them will have a servant's heart-

Solomon considered himself as a servant even if he was a King.

" So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?" 1 Kings 3:9

The Bible considers government authorities as God's servants.
"This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing."-Romans 13:6

4) Pray that they will distinguish between right and wrong.

" So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?" 1 Kings 3:9

5) Pray for them that God will give them knowledge and wisdom to lead the people.

Knowledge- is the state or fact of knowing. It is the body of truths or facts accumulated in the course of time as dictionary.com defines it.

Wisdom- is the ability to optimally (effectively and efficiently) apply perceptions and knowledge and so produce the desired results. Wisdom is comprehension of what is true or right coupled with optimum judgment as to action as Wikipedia defines it.

It was Solomon's prayer when he became King and God was so pleased to answer his prayer.

"Now, LORD God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours? God said to Solomon, "Since this is your heart's desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have." 2 Chronicles 1:9-12

6) Pray that the subordinates will also be submissive to the officials above them.

"The king's officials answered him, "Your servants are ready to do whatever our lord the king chooses." 2 Samuel 15:15

7) Pray for our nation.

"Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."Jeremiah 29:7

B. SUBMIT TO THE NEW LEADERS OF OUR NATION

1) We submit to the leaders for the Lord's sake.

"Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men." 1 Peter 2:13-15

2) We submit to the leaders because it is necessary.

"Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing." Romans 13:5-6

My Last Words On This Post

For those candidates who will not win and for your supporters, i hope and pray that you will accept your defeat.

This is not a time to have another revolution or another time to organize a rally. Accept your defeat and don't focus on your selfish ambition to rule but seek the peace and prosperity of our land. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper...everyone of us will enjoy.

Let's move on and enjoy the new leadership of our country. This is a new beginning...God has great plans not just for us individually but for us as a country.

Your Grace Is Enough

I love this song..."Your Grace Is Enough." This is one of my favorite songs.

This was one of the songs that was sang in our church's service last Sunday. Everytime i hear this song and remember God's grace, it really humbles me.

Everything we have accomplished in this life is by God's grace. (Isaiah 26:12)

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. (John 1:16).

We received our salvation through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 15:11, Ephesians 2:8)

We are justified freely by his grace. (Romans 3:24).

Where sin increased, his grace is increased the more.(Romans 5:20)
-but we should not use grace as a license to sin.

We have different gifts according to the grace given us. (Romans 12:6)

We grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ .(2 Peter 3:18)

God is able to make all grace abound to us, so that in all things at all times, having all that we need, we will abound in every good work.(2 Corinthians 9:8)

We are under God's grace. (Romans 6:14)

God's grace is sufficient for us. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

God's grace is enough for us.
